Electricity Saving Tips
Air conditioning :
  • Adjust the temperature to 25 degrees in summer and 21 in winter .

  • Choose an air-conditioning system that matches the size of the room.

  • Perform a periodic maintenance of air conditioning system.

  • Close windows and doors to prevent the escape of cold air to the outside

  • Use a dual-glass or reflector in all windows to reduce heat entering the house .

  • Avoid using electrical appliances that generate heat near the air conditioning unit because that could lead to an increase the consumption of power .

Lighting :
  • Rely on natural lighting during the day .

  • Turn off lights in unoccupied areas.

  • Clean lamps of dust to maintain good lighting and the use to a minimum number of lamps .

  • Use a multi-level lighting system to control the intensity of lighting as needed.

  • Use an energy-saving lamp. It provides approximately 80% of the energy consumed compared to regular headlamps.

Refrigerator :
  • Choose a refrigerator size that matches your needs .

  • Remove snow accumulated in the fridge because that affects the efficiency of refrigeration .

  • Place the fridge away from sources of heat like an oven window because the efficiency of its operation depends on the ambient temperature.

  • Leave a distance of no less than 15 cm between the fridge and the rear wall, allowing for better ventilation and thus reducing the consumption of electric power.

  • Let hot food cool, even before it is placed in the fridge.

Washing Machine :
  • Run your washing machine and dishwasher only when they are full .

  • Select a laundry setting that matches with the quality of clothing, whether it is light or heavy.

  • Take advantage of the sun when drying clothes.

Heater :
  • Adjust the temperature to 60-70 degrees Celsius, to lower energy consumption.

  • Make sure there are no leaks in hot water connections, because a leak will continue to drain power from your heater, even after you have turned it off .

Other electrical equipments :
  • Turn off your stereo, TV, and other appliances when they are not in use, avoiding leaving it on standby mode, in order to avoid the unnecessary consumption of electric power

  • Use a gas oven instead of an electric oven .
