Conclusion of the Gulf Workshop for the rationalization of Water and Electricity conception

Activities of water and electricity workshop of the GCC countries ended yesterday, which were organized by the Federal Authority of Water and Electricity during the period of 23-24 February 2010, at the Bustan Rotana in Dubai.
Mr. Mohammad Saleh, General Manager of Federal Electricity & Water Authority, delivered a speech in which he emphasised that the rationalization of energy consumption is at the forefront of all the sectors' concerns, that are associated with this area. And is now also in the forefront of the political supreme leaderships' concerns, due to the importance of the rationalization that is related to ensuring the sustainability of various fields of development, and achieving the security and stability of the society. He mentioned that the scope of Water and Electricity Conservation has expanded significantly during the recent years, and it is no longer limited to consumer awareness of the importance of rationalization and how to apply that, it now also includes practical, technical, modern and sophisticated approach . He added that a large group of countries managed to achieve large numbers in water and electricity rationalization fields...pointing at the important development of these critical sectors in the Arab Gulf countries in particular, which bring us together today to exchange experiences and showcase the latest applications, and enhance cooperation.
The workshop also included an overview of (11) scientific researches about the GCC countries experiences in Water & Electricity rationalization, and the most advanced techniques used in this field.
Mohammad Khalil Al-Shemsi, director of corporate communications at the commission, said that recommending the establishment of this gulf forum under the title "Workshop of Electricity and Water Rationalization", is a clear sign of the importance of this issue, because of its impact on various areas of development.
