FEWA and the Ministry of Education hold first meeting on conservation

The Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) and the Ministry of Education's Water Conservation teams met Sunday, October 2009 at the Ministry of Education's Head Office. Attending the meeting from FEWA were Mr. Mohammed Khalil Al Shamsi, Head of Corporate Communications, Engineer Haya Mohammed, Engineer Abir Al Jeeda, Engineer Maryam Mahboob, Salma Ali, Rasha Soroor and Amina Ahmed. Representing the Ministry of Education were Engineer Najeeba Ahmed, Director of Buildings and Recreational Services, Engineer Alaa Abu Leil and other members from the Ministry's team.
The meeting discussed various topics relating to developing a culture of environmental awareness amongst schools and methods to promote the conservation of electricity and water through various means, such as the launch of a media campaign and competitions in addition to the use of state-of-the-art building technology in implementation and design.
It was also agreed that further supplementary meetings between the two organizations will be regularly held, to follow up on the implementation of decisions and recommendations made in this preliminary gathering.
